Company Outing
/in NewsJakub Stachurski (Middle Right) is the technical sales representative for our Milesi line of coatings. Jakub paid us here a visit at Columbia Industrial Supplies to update us on all the new products available as well as provide some technical training. Jakub is very knowledgeable on many different types of wood coatings as well as application methods for each of them. Afterwards he treated us all to a nice dinner out. We are very happy to have such good support from him as well as Milesi!

Columbia Industrial Supplies Finishing Seminar
/in NewsColumbia Industrial Supplies Hosts 2019 Wood Finishing Seminars
Wood finishing can be one of the most challenging processes in your shop and your finished product is the first thing your customer sees. Many finishers though are self-taught, possibly trained by the previous finisher and often knowledge is handed down by word of mouth. Lack of proficiency in the finishing process can lead to expensive rework, missed delivery deadlines and frustration for production personnel.
In recognition of this dearth of knowledge and training in the wood finishing industry, Columbia Industrial Supplies partnered with the Fine Furniture & Joinery program at Camosun College to host one-day wood finishing seminars at Camosun College’s Interurban Campus in Victoria, B.C.
Areas of emphasis included:
Our industry partners Joe Spencer, Sales Director for AcromaPro North America; Ian Moskaluk, Senior Technical Representative for Klingspor Abrasives; and Don Alexander, Western Regional Manager for Coating Equipment Warehouse gave presentations on wood coatings, abrasives and application equipment in a classroom setting.
Each seminar was fully subscribed by Columbia Industrial customers and Camosun College students. Special thanks to Sandra Carr the instructor of the Fine Furniture and Joinery Program at Camosun College!

/in NewsThe Columbia Industrial Supplies annual golf tournament has wrapped up with a wonderful day of golf, fun and food. We would like to thank everyone who participated this year as it was a big success. There were prizes to be had, challenges to be won and lost balls to be found. The weather was great and so was Highland Pacific Golf course. We look forward to the event next year!
